Everything kicks off at 6pm tonight…I need you to pray for 3 things:

1. Safety for students & adults (no over heating issues, no injuries, etc…).

2. Everything happens as scheduled & with no “glitches” (weather, technology, etc…).

We all know that 2+1=3…but sometimes 2-1=3. Let me explain this unconventional math…math that doesn’t work in the natural. Sometimes addition only comes through subtraction and sometimes exponential growth comes through loss. These proven statements don’t work in the natural, this is unconventional math, this is supernatural math. 2-1=3!

In the last 6-8 months we’ve seen a some mindsets shift, some people come or go, and some methods replaced at Lifepoint Church. This has brought about a bunch of change…things that a vast majority of people will never know about…things that carry a great deal of weight. These behind the scenes changes, some choosen and others forced, have made Lifepoint Church a better place. 2-1=3!

The application of unconventional math, supernatural math, has made a difference that can only be explained as a God thing. Knowing that we, as leadership, will not waver on the vision and focus of the church has empowered us, through times of subtraction, to grow and do things with intentions and lacking regrets. The “Big Mo” (momentum) is in full effect, we’re riding that wave and having a blast! 2-1 does sometimes = 3!

Hope to see you Sunday.

Easter 2011 has come and gone and it was an amazing one! The phrase “holy hangover” is absoluetely stupid…so, I’ll just say I’m tired. Our staff and volunteers did an amazing job. It was awesome to see hundreds of brand new people…but equally cool was seeing so many Lifepointers step up and volunteer. It truly was a team effort…and we’ve got an amazing team. This picture is just a small glimpse of the adult worship experience. We really should have had a camera with a wide angle lense or panoramic capabilities to get the full effect, this picture doesn’t do the experience justice.

10 Simple observations from Easter 2011 @ Lifepoint Church (several of which I already knew):

1. First and foremost…people who don’t have a church home are very much open to the gospel, open to Jesus, and are ready for life change. We saw OVER 45 men, women and children come to Christ this Easter at Lifepoint Church.

2. NEVER try to fit more than 550-600 people into an elementary school (for ONE service). We’ll be moving to 2 services sometime in the future and Easter next year will have at least 2 services…if not more. (we need to work out the logistics w/ the helicopter)

3. Everybody loves a BIG crowd. The saying holds true - “a crowd attracts a crowd.” The excitment level with Lifepointers is sky high. (I already knew this) It’s really cool to see people who finally get the vision for a church that reaches a great many people…it’s like watching a light bulb turn on over their heads.

4. Helicopters are cool and even cooler when dropping Easter eggs.

5. Those reluctant to serve…once they get a taste of serving and see the results…suddenly have servants hearts. (I already knew this) I love watching people volunteer for the first time – seeing the looks on their faces and knowing that they are getting just as much out of it as those they are serving.

6. Lifepoint Church will do an egg drop EVERY year for Easter.

7. Genuine relationships, engaging worship & relevant teaching…these are the backbone of Lifepoint Church. All of our guests this Easter experienced these 3 things in full effect. It was awesome to see first timers worshiping, nodding their heads and grapsing the teaching, and talking / laughing / and enjoying those around them. People are looking to fill voids in their lives…Christ fills the biggest void…and everything we do at Lifepoint works to fill the others.

8. Our worship team is the BEST around…no questions about it! (I already knew this)

9. Pulling off a HUGE event is fairly easy…but the follow up is the real work. We’ve got roughly 85-100 BRAND NEW FAMILIES to connect with, to love on, and to get plugged in.

10. The level of creative at Lifepoint Church can’t be touched by anyone around. Sure there are some mega churches in the area with big budgets and resources that do cool things…and someday we’ll be one of those churches. But the creativity, innovations, resourcefulness and efforts of the creative team at Lifepoint is legit. The creative team produces artwork, stagedesigns, event ideas, and web resources that are often imitated, but never duplicated. (I already knew this) I heard a ton of guests talking about the service and the way things were done. I’ll say this…we made an amazing first impression.

Easter was awesome…but Sunday is coming and every weekend is equally as important – because every weekend we worship a risen king! We’re launching a brand new teaching series THIS Sunday called “One Month To Live” – this series is going to change the way we do life!

Hope to see you Sunday.

I’ve heard it said, I’ve even said it in the past and been part of church staffs that believed, “…our church just wants to do something for the community with nothing in return…” Those thoughts and motives are great, but to think they should be applied to all your church does is just poor planning and weak leadership. There must be times when you, your staff and your church do things with the sole purpose of reaching people and seeing lives changed.

For example, during the Easter season it is common place to see churches all over the country do events - Easter egg hunts, egg drops, community events or festivals, etc… - that draw crowds. More often than not when these events are planned the phrase “…we just want to do something for the community with nothing in return…” is uttered in staff meetings and planning sessions. And when the event is planned it is scheduled for some mid afternoon, often on a Saturday, a week or the day before Easter. Why? Why bring 100′s or maybe even 1,000′s of people to your doorstep…give them candy or treats and then let them leave without sharing the message of Christ with them, giving them a chance to accept Christ and to walk away different then the way they came in?

We’re doing our first ever “egg drop” this Easter (dropping 1,000s & 1,000s of Easter eggs from a helicopter). I’ve seen churches all over the country do this event and draw crowds. At Lifepoint Church we’re capable of doing an event and drawing a crowd…but should that be the goal? We decided that our event would be part of our Easter worship experience on Easter Sunday, not a seperate event. You register for the event online, you show up on Easter Sunday at Lifepoint Church with your family, your children experience Lifepoint Kidz, you experience our worship and relevant teaching, you hear a life changing message and then have the ability to walk away different than the way you walked in.

We will do it this way each and every year because the goal is not a crowd, but showing people that “church” isn’t what they think it is or the way it was when they were growing up. We will do it this way each and every year because the goal is not a crowd, but giving people a chance to be accepted and become part of a thriving community of believers. We will do it this way each and every year because the goal is not a crowd, but changed lives. And in my simple opinion, doing an event with for any other reason than to see lives changed, perceptions shattered and relationships built…well, that falls into the category of poor planning and weak leadership. Be intentional and never apologize for it!

We do what we do, in all that we do, to see people become fully devoted followers of Chirst. We’ve often said that we will ”…do anything short of sin to reach people…” and guess what? We are and we’re reaching people. Come and be part of this amazing journey.

Hope to see you Sunday.
